Cryogenic Laboratory from National Institute for Cryogenic and Isotope Separation – ICSI Rm.Valcea provides a flexible experimental base a wide range for cryogenic processes and applications.
Helium liquefier type HRLS 11 (helium refrigeration loop 16-22K);
Helium liquefier LINDE-L5;
Hydrogen liquefier PPH 100;
Nitrogen liquefier PPG;
Charpy pendulum F040 S1;
Testing machine TC 300 (300KN);

Research groups
Cryogenic technologies, equipment and techniques: refrigeration and liquefaction applications; isotopes separation; purification; cryogenic distillation, thermal insulation, storage and transport techniques;
Determination of mechanical properties of materials at low temperature (toughness, tensile);
Physical-chemical properties of materials at low temperature;
Vacuum equipment and application

Research program
Cryostats for tensile and toughness determination at different cryogenic temperatures. Experimental set-up for conductivity measurements at cryogenic temperatures;
Cryo-adsorption and cryo-condensation process for purification of hydrogen isotopes;
Heat transfer in cryogenic process ;
Hydrogen isotopes cryogenic distillation (cryogenic distillation columns, distillation packing);
Vacuum chambers, radiation shields;
Design and analysis. (CATIA, Discovery Live, ANSYS)
